Shahi Tukda

•5 slices white bread – crust removed and cut into triangles
•400 gm ghee
•300 gm sugar
•150 ml water
•1/8 tsp cardamom pods
•3 strands saffron threads
•1 can evaporated milk

•Heat up the ghee and fry the bread slices until brown. Drain.
•Prepare sugar syrup by boiling sugar, water and cardamom pods till thick.
•Soak the fried bread in thick sugar syrup for a few minutes. Drain.
•Heat up the milk, cardamom pods and saffron thread for a few minutes to infuse the color & flavor.
•Serve the sauce with sugar- soaked bread. Garnish with toasted almond flakes..
